Dentistry's Dirty Little Secrets
There are a number of things that are unfortunate realities, and one of them is that the better dentists must spend a considerable amount of time, energy, and money to be able to utilize the rapidly advancing cutting edge of dentistry. With new innovations coming forward all the time and creating better and more capable dentists as a result, it is only those who are committed to learning that are supporting the profession and their patients as they should. One of the most celebrated Continuing Education facilities for Dentists is the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. While more information can be found at http://www.lviglobal.com/ , the important point is that it is places like LVI that make dentists better and make dentistry easier!
The reward to the patient is that those dentists who have completed the Core Continuum at LVI are able to help to eliminate chronic and often debilitating pain - those dentists are the ones who can stop migraines and correct airway and breathing problems! That is a secret worth sharing!!

Dental Science Creates the Winning Edge
Part of the New Orleans Saints Super Bowl victory is attributable to the science of neuromuscular dentistry. This season 40 of the Saints players including Tracy Porter, who caught the game-changing interception, wore a custom-fitted mouthguard that employs the science of neuromuscular dentistry. Neuromuscular dentistry involves placing the lower jaw into its optimal resting position.
Here is how it works. A misaligned bite often leads to chronic pain in the head, neck and jaw, grinding of the teeth and ringing in the ears and tingling in fingers, a condition known as temporomandibular jaw joint disorder, commonly referred to as TMD or TMJ. Just like flexing your arm for a second is comfortable but flexing it continuously for two or three minutes starts to hurt, a strained jaw eventually causes pain and discomfort.
Fixing the bite puts head, neck and jaw muscles in near-perfect alignment. This not only optimizes breathing and increases strength, balance, flexibility and endurance, it alleviates pain and discomfort associated with TMD. Click here to locate a specially-trained dentist in your area.

The Science of Health and Wellness in Dentistry
The story underneath it all is that in addition to their natural ability and drive, professional athletes in a variety of sports have had the tremendous advantage of a supportive appliance that is based on the Neuromuscular principles that can be used to eliminate head and neck pain. The science of muscle physiology is at play not just on the field (or court or ring) but also in every day life.
The benefits of proper support of the jaw and muscles associated with that system are astounding! Neuromuscular occlusion can eliminate pain and literally change lives. Dentists come out to LVI (Meet Dr. Duncan) from around the world to learn how to apply Neuromuscular techniques in their practices and change their patient's lives!
